New to LIFE is Good Unschooling Conference? We’re Rolling Out the Red Carpet for You!

Chrissie Korolsky

Registration for LIFE is Good 2025 is open, and I’m beyond excited to welcome new attendees to this incredible event. Hi, I’m Chrissie Korolsky, and I lead the Red Carpet Club at LiG, which is designed to help first-time attendees feel comfortable and connected. But I’m not just a program leader—I’m also a conference-goer, just like you.

My family lives in Washington, where my husband works as a farm mechanic and I support our two kids in their unschooling journey. We started with public school, tried private school, and explored traditional homeschooling before we found unschooling—and later, radical unschooling. When we first attended LiG in 2018, we weren’t radical unschoolers yet, and I never felt any pressure to be anything other than myself. It was a welcoming, inclusive environment, and I quickly realized that this community was the perfect fit for us.

What to Expect at LIFE is Good Unschooling Conference

My family loves the conference, but I was a little nervous coming that first year. The conference sounded fantastic, but I really didn't know what to expect. I had a zillion questions.

  • How would I feed the family?
  • What would my kids do when my husband and I attended a talk?
  • Did we need to dress up for prom?
  • How would my kids find friends? How would I?
  • What should I pack?
  • Could my kids come with me to sessions?
  • And so many more…

Luckily, LIFE is Good Unschooling Conference has a fantastic support system for first-time attendees. One of the most helpful resources for me was the conference’s welcome program, which played a huge role in making my first experience enjoyable and stress-free. Now, I volunteer with the Red Carpet Club to help others feel just as comfortable and connected.

The Red Carpet Club: Helping You Connect with the Unschooling Community

The Red Carpet Club is a program designed to ease your transition into the LIFE is Good experience. Whether you’re attending your first conference or just need some guidance, the club offers a variety of ways to connect:

  • Video Calls: Before the conference, you’ll have the chance to meet other first-time attendees and seasoned conference-goers through casual video calls. These calls allow you to ask questions, talk through logistics, and get to know others before you arrive.
  • Tours: The conference space can be overwhelming when you first get there. Volunteers from the Red Carpet Club will give you a guided tour of the venue, introducing you to the different programs and answering any questions you have along the way.
  • Meet & Mix Funshop: If you’re eager to meet new people and make connections, this funshop is a great way to do it. It’s a casual event where you can meet other unschooling families, make new friends, and engage with the wider LiG community.
